Share meeting invitations across your chats and communities

An invitation card with the useful details

Meetyn provides a meeting-specific preview with the title, exact date and time in the organizer’s timezone, and a prompt to open and RSVP. Availability polls ask people to vote for a time. Cancelled meetings are labelled cancelled. Private addresses, conferencing links, descriptions, and participant names are not included in the preview. Anyone with the invitation link can still open its full details, so share it only with the intended group.

A countdown at a glance

The preview image shows time remaining, such as ‘2 days to go’ or ‘Starts in 3 hours’, at the moment it is generated. It is labelled ‘when previewed’ because chat apps cache images: the countdown does not tick inside a message. The exact date and time remain on the card. Open the invitation for the current countdown and the time in your device’s timezone.

WhatsApp groups and individual chats

Copy the complete https://meetyn.app/m/ invitation link or use Share invitation. Paste it into the chat and give WhatsApp time to load its preview before sending. This is a website invitation card, not a WhatsApp Event: recipients open the link to choose Going, Maybe, or Not going. Preview privacy settings, connectivity, and WhatsApp’s cache can affect whether the image appears.

Discord channels and Slack conversations

Paste the complete invitation URL into your message. Meetyn supplies Open Graph and large-image card metadata that preview readers can use without a Meetyn account. Link previews must be enabled by the recipient or workspace; Discord channel permissions may also affect embeds. Avoid angle brackets around the URL when you want an expanded preview. Meetyn does not install a bot, read your messages, or automatically post into channels.

Facebook groups and other platforms

Paste the invitation URL when composing a Facebook group post and allow the preview to load. Group rules and Facebook settings control whether a preview is shown. The same link and preview metadata can be used by services such as Messenger, LinkedIn, Telegram, and X, although the image size, text, and availability vary. These are shareable web links, not native event integrations or guaranteed layouts on every service.

Respond, save the date, or invite others

Open the invitation to RSVP with your name; an email address or Meetyn account is not required. Google Calendar and Outlook links open an event draft that you must save. Apple Calendar / ICS downloads an event to import. These calendar copies are snapshots and do not automatically follow edits. Copy link, Share invitation, and the QR code invite other people to this meeting; they do not save it to your calendar.

Get reminders and meeting updates

Sign in with a verified account and select Remind me about this meeting on the invitation. Meetyn schedules an email reminder about an hour before it starts, sends important changes or cancellations, and lists followed meetings on your dashboard. Guests can instead request optional email updates after saving an RSVP and confirm their email link. No marketing messages are added by this choice. Turn off reminders on the invitation or use the unsubscribe link in an email. Delivery can be delayed; use the invitation and your calendar as your source of the current time.

Sharing from Meetyn apps

Invitations shared from the web, installed PWA, Windows app, and mobile apps use the same Meetyn URL, so the destination can request the same preview. No account or app installation is required to open the web invitation. Whether the link opens in a browser or an installed app depends on your device, app version, and link settings.

Refresh an old or missing preview

First open the invitation to check its current details. Edit or cancel the meeting in Meetyn, then paste the complete link into a new message and wait for the preview. A platform may reuse an older card, even after you edit or delete a meeting; Meetyn cannot remove cached cards or messages on another service. On Facebook, its Sharing Debugger can request a fresh scrape. If the preview stays stale, include the correct date and time in your message and ask guests to open the invitation.
